Camp Wenonah

Why Camp Wenonah?

Scott had a vision of a legacy that was very important to him. One component of that legacy that inspired such passion in him, was to have a foundation set up that would provide an experience for the children of the dedicated health professionals who supported him and his fellow patients on the transplant ward. Health professionals who attended to the patients on a daily basis, giving care and offering support that is so crucial to healing, and so meaningful to both patients and families. For Scott this transplant ward became his home during his many lengthy hospitalizations, and those health care professionals became his extended family.

So it was a challenge to identify a suitable gift in kind that would continue Scott’s legacy, and that’s when Jeff Bradshaw and his team at Camp Wenonah stepped up. Each year 10-15 children of the health professionals from the transplant ward are sponsored for a week at the camp in Muskoka Ontario. Here are some of the camp letters and photos that describe the impact these experiences are having on the children and their parents.
